Central Coast Cafes: The Most on the Coast (with Toast)

Summer on the Central Coast is heaven on earth. As early as winter dosed off this year the scorching heat is arriving and everyone is already dreaming of taking a holiday. When summer and holidays come together, we know it’s time to hit the stunning New South Wales Central Coast!

The Central Coast lies on the Tasman Sea coast, north of Sydney and south of Lake Macquarie. It’s considered to be a destination for both locals and tourists, not just because of its pristine beaches, but also because of the adventures that only the Central Coast can offer. Your itinerary will certainly be filled with swimming, surfing, camping, hiking, and more adrenalin-fuelled activities. But there’s one thing you should never miss — the Central Coast cafes improve every year. Featured here are a selection of never-miss cafes in on the Central Coast …

Glee Coffee Roasters

Glee Coffee Roasters lives and breathes specialty coffee. Their passion goes beyond the cup and into the community and relationships that they find around it. They have curated their house-blend “The Goods” and then “The Verve”, which is a little more punchy. As the season changes, so do the four coffee offerings from Glee Coffee Roasters. How fascinating!

Best Things To Do
On The New South Wales Central Coast

Sydney gets all the glory globally, but it’s its Northern backyard, the NSW Central Coast, that Sydneysiders are fleeing to in frantically increasing numbers as they trade their inner-city high-rise apartments for the luxury of having a decent-sized house with a backyard, room for a dog or two and a child or three. And as this social upheaval transforms the Central Coast from surfie fiefdom into pseudo-urban sophistication, new residents or tourists can now look forward to many more things to do!

It wouldn’t be right to go to the Central Coast and NOT get wet! That’s where Aquafun Avoca Lake can help you make up for lost droplets. Aquafun is located on the shores of Avoca Lake, an enclosed large coastal lagoon with a large island and lots of bays and wetland to explore. Hire from a huge selection of pedal boats and kayaks, or take the plunge (it’s inevitable) trying out your balance on stand-up paddle boarding.

Getting a taste of Nature and suddenly become addicted to the fresh air? The State Forests of the Watagan Mountains are considered nature’s playground for the range of nature-based activities available in the area. These forests contain not only beautiful mountain scenery but have all the necessary facilities for day-trippers, bushwalkers, four wheel drivers and campers.

Families are attracted to living on the Central Coast because not only is it naturally beautiful, has great cafes and is cheaper than Sydney, but all the amenities are there. If you’re having an illness, there’s plenty of local doctors and state-of-the-art hospitals. If you require back pain treatment on the Central Coast click on this link to see naturopath and Bowen Therapist Peter Donald in Jilliby, who often works with laser therapy also.

Although cancelled by the council for now due to COVID-19 risks (these pelicans refuse to stand 1.5 metres apart or to not exceed groups of 20, the famous Entrance Pelican Feed will at some point once again take place on The Entrance waterfront each day and is one of the Central Coast’s most popular tourist attractions, entertaining and educating visitors and residents alike about the area’s own pelican colony. It was all started over 30 years ago by staff at the local fish shop, who would feed scraps to the pelicans every day. Then in 1996, Council built the feeding platform known as Pelican Plaza. They, in conjunction with the many sponsors and a wonderful team of volunteers, have made it possible to feed the pelicans whole fresh fish 365 days a year and make it the spectacle it is today.

Got more kids? You’ll need a children’s orthodontist who specialises in Invisalign as you’ll have a lot more money to spend after selling your Sydney pad and buying cheaper in Gosford, Tuggerah, Terrigal or Wyong. You see, the Central Coast is a haven to beachgoers, adventure-seekers, and best cafes hunters alike. To give yourself an excuse to frequent the Coast not just on summer holidays, why won’t you consider getting your invisalign, metal braces or ceramic braces there? The Central Coast also boasts of qualified professional dentists in New South Wales.

The eight kilometre Bouddi coastal walk runs from Putty Beach to MacMasters Beach. Boasting beaches, boardwalks and birdlife, it’s known as one of the most beautiful central coast walks. This relatively easy hike is characterised by sweeping views, shady rainforest and inviting picnic spots.

Vera’s Water Garden is always a hit with children, who can dangle their feet in the wading pool, run through the water sprays, and climb over the brightly coloured fountains. Vera’s Water Garden offers ample seating with shaded areas and free Wifi so parents can just sit back and relax while the children play. Situated right on the foreshore next to Memorial Park, The Entrance.

We hope you enjoyed our sojourn into not just Central Coast cafes but so many other attractions. Coast to Coast, it’s safe to say the Central Coast has some immaculate foodie highlights just like the best cafes on the West Coast of Australia.
