Comfortable and friendly, Christo's Pizzeria is as much a Five Ways Paddington institution as The Royal Hotel across their much-encircled mutual roundabout. Any night of the week it's crowded, yet there always seems to be a spare table for stray diners looking for a gourmet pizza fix. Owner Peter Poulos is always on the floor making sure diners get that extra quality moment of attention, the music is always good - and then of course there's the food. The Marinara Pizza is a ripper - tiger prawns, scallops, mussels, octopus, tomato and mozzarella on a thin 'n crispy base - absolutely delish! Paddo Prices? Hardly ... small gourmet pizzas are $12.80, mediums are $20 are large ones are $25.20 ... and his "non-gourmet pizzas" are even cheaper. What else hits the spot? Chicken Teriyaki Pizza with artichoke, roasted capsicum, tomato and mozzarella is spot on. The Hot Salami Pizza with red chilli beans, red spanish onions, a dash of sour cream, tomato and mozzarella is a spicemaniac's delight. Christo's pasta includes essentials like Boscaiola, Provencale, Napoletana, Bolognese and Moussaka, there's bruschetta and a range of gelatos - and wine and beer are available so you can soak up the atmosphere any night of the week. No wonder many Paddo locals have been regulars for two decades.
